White, affectionately referred to by fans as D-Train, has spent two seasons in the WNBA and with the Liberty. She has averaged 2.2 ppg and 3.2 rpg during her career. The 5'11" forward has appeared in 44 total games during her two professional seasons and boasts a .519 field goal shooting percentage over that time. After graduating from Louisiana State in 2003, White went to Israel to play for Bnei-Yehuda. She was then signed as a free agent by the Liberty on February 6, 2004. During her rookie season in '04, she played in 31 games, while averaging 3.8 rpg and 2.6 rpg. White saw action in 13 games during her sophomore season in 2005. She posted 1.2 ppg and 1.7 rpg on the year.
"DeTrina was a fan favorite at Madison Square Garden so we are sorry to see her leave," said Liberty Senior Vice President and General Manager Carol Blazejowski. "We thank D-Train for all of the passion and effort she brought to the court every day for the New York Liberty the past two seasons and we wish her well as she moves on to the Chicago Sky."
