The 2006 season will be the second on the Liberty sidelines for DiPillo. He joined the team’s coaching staff, comprised of Head Coach Pat Coyle and Assistant Coach Marianne Stanley, prior to the recently completed 2005 season. The trio led the Liberty to an 18-16 regular season record and a berth in the WNBA Playoffs.
DiPillo served as a scout for the Liberty in 2003 and 2004. In his current role as an assistant coach, his main responsibilities are player development, game preparation and scouting, as well as assisting in planning practices and individual player workouts.
A North Brunswick, NJ native, DiPillo brings both collegiate playing and coaching experience to the Liberty. He played two years at Rutgers-Camden before transferring to Fairleigh Dickinson University and finishing up his career as a Knight. After graduating from FDU in 2003, DiPillo spent two seasons as Bruce Hamburger’s assistant at Kean University in Union, NJ.
