New York, NY - May 5, 2005 - While there are 10 players on the floor of Madison Square Garden on Saturday as the Liberty face off against Seattle, 10 other elite professionals will be in the spotlight in nearby New Brunswick, NJ. Former Liberty player Sue Wicks is among 10 accomplished alumni who will be inducted into the Rutgers Hall of Distinguished Alumni on Saturday.

The 6'3" Center Moriches, NY native was the sixth overall pick in the Inaugural WNBA Draft in 1997. Wicks played for the Liberty through 2002. She is the all-time Liberty leader in blocked shots with 155. She is also third on the all-time career rebounds list with 788 and fourth in games played at 182.

Wicks, a three-time All-American and Atlantic-10 Player of the Year, remains the most highly decorated basketball player in RU history. She is the all-time leader in blocked shots (293), steals (287) and scoring average (21.1 ppg). Her 2,655 points is still the record point total for both men and women at Rutgers.

The Hall of Distinguished Alumni was established in 1987 by the Rutgers University Alumni Federation to recognize those whose superior achievements in professional and civic life have brought honor to themselves and the University. This year's honorees bring the total number of members to 166.

The awards dinner will take place at the Hyatt Regency New Brunswick on Saturday, May 7, beginning with a reception at 6:00.
