T-rriffic T-Spoon!
For seven seasons (1997-2003) Teresa Weatherspoon led the Liberty charge. Known for putting out maximum effort for every minute on the hardwood, Spoon’s teammates couldn’t help but follow her lead.
It was a great ride for T-Spoon and for the Liberty, culminating with five playoff appearances, three Eastern Conference Championships and four trips to the WNBA Finals.
As much as everyone remembers “The Shot” in the 1999 WNBA Finals, Spoon may have touched more fans and New Yorkers through her countless community visits, autographs, clinics and hugs!
So, join the Liberty this Saturday, August 5th vs. the Chicago Sky, as we celebrate Teresa Weatherspoon the player, fan favorite and community advocate during a special halftime ceremony.
