MONARCHS TV SCHEDULE TO FEATURE
EVERY WNBA CHAMPION
Games Against Comets, Mercury, Shock, Sparks and Storm Highlight Monarchs TV Slate

SACRAMENTO, CALIF., April 16, 2008 - The Sacramento Monarchs today announced the team will have 10 games televised this season, including match-ups with every WNBA champion to date.

Highlighting the 10-game television slate are two games against the 2007 WNBA Champion Phoenix Mercury, plus games against the Houston Comets, Detroit Shock, Los Angeles Sparks and Seattle Storm.

News10 (ABC) will televise three games this season, including the Monarchs 12th WNBA season opener on May 17 at 7 p.m. PDT at ARCO Arena. Fans will experience a 2007 WNBA Playoffs rematch, as the Monarchs face-off against their first round opponent from last year, the San Antonio Silver Stars. The Monarchs home opener has been sold out the last six seasons – a WNBA record.

“The Monarchs and the WNBA bring a lot of excitement to Sacramento,” says President and General Manager of News10, Russell Postell. “We are pleased to continue our partnership with the Monarchs and connect to our community through women’s sports.”

Comcast SportsNet (CSN) will carry five Monarchs games this season. Its first Monarchs broadcast of the year will be on Saturday, June 14, when Sacramento takes on the Los Angeles Sparks at 7 p.m. PDT at ARCO Arena.

“We greatly value our television partnership with the Monarchs, and are looking forward once again to providing Monarchs telecasts to the growing base of loyal and passionate WNBA fans in this area,” says CSN Vice President and General Manager Larry Eldridge.”

“With the help of great television partners like News10 and Comcast SportsNet, the Monarchs are excited to showcase WNBA basketball throughout the region,” said Danette Leighton, vice president of marketing and Monarchs business operations. “We look forward to growing the brand this season through a compelling slate of games which features every WNBA champion to date.”

In addition to locally-televised games on News10 and Comcast SportsNet, two Monarchs games will be shown live on ESPN2.

Jim Kozimor, in his 10th season with the franchise, will call the play-by-play on both News10 and Comcast SportsNet with Monarchs analyst Krista Blunk, in her 12th season.

Exciting and intense basketball will take place this summer at ARCO Arena! The Monarchs tip-off their 12th WNBA season at home against the San Antonio Silver Stars on May 17 at 7 p.m. PDT.
