Bales is a bonafide shot-blocker who has good shooting skills for a post player her size...she has range on her shot, and can expect to develop her interior game during her second year of play behind Tammy Sutton-Brown.

2007: In her rookie year, Bales averaged 3.2 points and 2.6 rebounds per game in 17 appearances…she scored a season-high nine points at Seattle, 7/27…she had six points and a season-high eight rebounds, all in the second half, at Chicago, 8/7…all of her points and all but one rebound in that game came in the fourth quarter…she had at least two rebounds in 11 of her 15 appearances…she had a blocked shot in seven of her 17 appearances in 2007.

2007: Bales participated in four of six games during the Fever’s run to the Eastern Conference Finals…she saw action in two games of each Fever playoff series, logging 17 minutes.

2007-08: Bales played in Russia in November and December 2007…in two games for Dynamo Moscow in the Russian Superleague, she scored 10 points with 11 rebounds and two blocked shots…she also played in three EuroLeague games for Dynamo, averaging 7.0 ppg and 4.7 rpg…her teammates in Russia included former Fever player Kelly Schumacher and former Indiana draft pick (2004) Ieva Kublina.
COLLEGE
2006-07: The recipient of the Lowe’s Senior CLASS Award (Celebrating Loyalty and Achievement for Staying in School), a finalist for the Naismith Player of the Year Award, and a Third Team All-America selection by The Associated Press, she averaged 11.9 points, 7.8 rebounds, 4.4 blocks and 2.0 assists per game in helping lead the Blue Devils to a 32-2 record and the No. 1 ranking in the polls for most of the season...she finished the season with a school record 151 blocks, one short of the NCAA single-season record...she ended her career with 434 blocked shots, a Duke career record and the third most in a career in NCAA history...she blocked a career-high nine shots against Penn State, 11/21...she had five double-doubles on the season and scored 10+ points 23 times and scored a season-high 21 points twice, including the NCAA Tournament loss to Rutgers, 3/24...on her way to 21 points vs. Clemson, she shot 13-13 from the foul line, one short of the Blue Devils’ record for most without a miss...after having registered double-doubles in consecutive games against North Carolina, 2/25, and Maryland, 2/18, she was named the ACC Player of the Week...she scored 16 points vs. North Carolina, 2/25, making her the 21st player in Duke history to score 1,000 points in her career...she tied a career-high with 14 boards in the first game against the Tar Heels, 2/8...her four blocks in the NCAA tournament loss to Rutgers, 3/24, gave her an NCAA record 62 in her 15-game tournament career...she also became the ACC's all-time leading shot-blocker. 2005-06: As a junior, she started 23 of 35 contests and recorded averages of 9.1 ppg, 6.7 rpg, 3.4 bpg, 1.2 spg and 1.1 apg...her average of 3.4 bpg ranked sixth in the country and her total of 120 blocked shots were second in school history...in the NCAA Tournament vs. Southern California, she scored a career-high 22 points…she had seven double-doubles on the season and had a season-high 13 rebounds twice...she was named the MVP of the Bridgeport Regional after averaging 12.5 ppg, 10.5 rpg, 6.5 bpg, 2.5 apg and 1.5 spg in two games. 2004-05: Her sophomore season was her "coming out party" as she averaged an ACC-best 3.7 bpg and was named to the league's All-Defensive Team...she started 33 of 36 games for the Blue Devils and recorded averages of 7.7 ppg, 6.6 rpg and 1.9 apg...she shot 48 percent from the floor and made the only 3-pt FG attempt in her first three seasons at Duke...she scored in double figures 11 times, including a season-best 21 points at Wake Forest...she notched two double-doubles and snared a season-high 14 rebounds against Stephen F. Austin...she was named to the All-Tournament Team for the Junkaroo Jam after averaging 12.0 ppg, 13.5 rpg and 5.5 bpg in two games. 2003-04: After missing the entire preseason and the first three games of the regular season with a knee injury, she saw action in 24 games as a freshman...she averaged 3.3 ppg, 2.8 rpg and 1.2 bpg...she finished with 29 blocks in 24 games...in her college debut, she scored five points, had three rebounds, two blocks and two assists against Stephen F.
