RTA is a year-round initiative involving the WNBA that promotes the value of literacy among youth. From the donation of books to the many Learn and Play renovation projects, Read to Achieve has helped thousands of young children in the fight against illiteracy.

WNBA FIT encourages teens and women to learn more about health, fitness, nutrition and self-esteem. In-arena clinics allow fans to interact with Shock players and coaches while instilling a greater sense of importance to personal physical fitness.

The Shock and American Red Cross will be teaming up to recognize area heroes. Fans are encouraged to nominate heroes through the Shock and American Red Cross. These exemplary citizens will be honored on-court at a Shock home game. Click here to nominate.

The Karmanos Cancer Institute recently hosted the Komen Community Challenge to help “close the gap” and collectively bring the city together to come up with solutions on how to address this issue. The Pistons and National City are doing their part to help “close the gap.”

The Shock participate in the March of Dimes March for Babies to raise funds and awareness for preventing birth defects, premature birth and infant mortality through research, education, community services and advocacy.

Can’t make it to a Shock game? You can still bid on an array of autographed memorabilia through our online auction program, which raises money for the Pistons-Palace Foundation. Winning bidders can pay online and have their item shipped directly to them.
