Read to Achieve is a year-round initiative involving the WNBA that promotes the value of literacy among youth. From the donation of books to the many Learn and Play renovation projects, Read to Achieve has helped thousands of young children in the fight against illiteracy.

WNBA Be Smart, Be Fit, Be Yourself encourages teens and women to learn more about health, fitness, nutrition and self-esteem. In-arena clinics allow fans to interact with Shock players and coaches while instilling a greater sense of importance to personal physical fitness.

The Karmanos Cancer Institute recently hosted the Komen Community Challenge to help “close the gap” and collectively bring the city together to come up with solutions on how to address this issue. The Pistons and National City are doing their part to help “close the gap.”
