Dominique Canty scored nine of her 20 points in the two overtime periods to help set up Brown’s heroics. Detroit pulled out the win despite allowing the Sting to connect on 46.2 percent of their field goal attempts and being outscored 19-9 from the free throw line. They did so by nailing seven of 17 three-pointers and turning 22 Charlotte turnovers into 26 points.
Brown scored 19 points for the Shock including hitting four of five from long distance while Shalonda Enis led the Sting with 11 points.
