Miami – The Shock were held under 40 percent shooting from the field and failed to take a lead of any kind for the second straight game, falling to the expansion Miami Sol 74-61. The Sol led by three at the break and by just two with 11:55 to go in the second half, but a 19-5 run effectively ended the game.
Sheri Sam’s 17 points for Miami led all scorers, and the Sol outscored Detroit 26-13 at the free throw line. Elena Tornikidou and Tamicha Jackson each scored 14 points for the Shock.
