Auburn Hills - It took 14 games played out over the course of a month, but the 2002 Detroit Shock finally put a dent in the win column with an 11-point win over the Sacramento Monarchs. Detroit took a two-point lead into the locker room, 30-28, and a 9-0 run midway through the second helped the Shock take control of the game. Deanna Nolan and Ayana Walker each scored 11 points after the break as Detroit outscored Sacramento 41-32 in the period. Walker also grabbed 10 rebounds for her first double-double of the season, and Swin Cash added a 19-point, 11-rebound double-double of her own. Tangela Smith led Sacramento in scoring with 13 points.
