July 12, 2004 at The Palace at Auburn Hills, Auburn Hills, MI

AUBURN HILLS, Mich., -- Coach John Whisenant has found some players that can turn around the Sacramento Monarchs' season. They are sitting next to him on the bench during the opening tip.

Ruthie Bolton scored 11 points and Chantelle Anderson and Rebekkah Brunson each chipped in with 10 off the bench as the Monarchs rallied to defeat the Detroit Shock, 67-51.

After Detroit's Swin Cash hit a reverse layup 3:10 into the second half to even the score at 36-36, Bolton scored eight points during a decisive 16-2 run by the Monarchs, who shot 54 percent (13-of-24) in the second half.

Anderson also collected seven rebounds and had two of the eight blocks for Sacramento, whose bench outscored Detroit's reserves, 43-11, en route to its second win in three games. The Monarchs split the season series with the Shock.

Yolanda Griffith led Sacramento's starters with nine points. The Monarchs forced a season-high 25 turnovers by Detroit, including 15 after halftime, and held Cash - the WNBA Player of the Week - to seven points.

Deanna Nolan scored 11 points and hauled down a career-best 10 rebounds for her first double-double for Detroit, which has lost four of its last six home games. Ruth Riley also scored 11 points.
