San Antonio – The Detroit Shock’s offense and defense has started to come into it’s own for the 2003 season as the first two wins have been wins of 14 and 19 points, respectively. Cheryl Ford made the most of her 19 minutes played with a double-double (11 points, 12 rebounds). The Shock was led in scoring by Kedra Holland-Corn’s 13 points, followed by four other players scoring in double digits (Swin Cash 12, Cheryl Ford 11, Deanna Nolan 11, Elaine Powell 10).

San Antonio’s troubles could be attributed to their 25.7% field goal shooting and giving up 17 points on 13 turnovers versus the 8 points on 11 turnovers the Shock gave up. Detroit led the whole way, jumping off to a 12-0 lead during the first four minutes of play.
