Shock TV Broadcast Schedule

Auburn Hills, MI - The Detroit Shock announced its 2007 television schedule today which features 11 local broadcasts - eight on FSN Detroit and three on Comcast Local - and five nationally televised games - three on ESPN2 and two on ABC.

The Shock’s local schedule tips off on Tuesday, May 22 at The Palace of Auburn Hills with a 7:30 p.m. ET game vs. up-and-coming Western Conference foe, the Minnesota Lynx, on Comcast Local. The other two Comcast Local games feature 2006 WNBA Playoff teams - the Washington Mystics on Wednesday, May 30 at 7:30 p.m. and the Houston Comets on Tuesday, August 14 at 7:30 p.m.

The FSN Detroit schedule is highlighted by an Eastern Conference Finals rematch with the Connecticut Sun at The Palace on Wednesday, June 27 at 7:30 p.m. and a visit by Diana Taurasi and the Phoenix Mercury on Sunday, July 8 at 6 p.m.

Three of the eight FSN Detroit broadcasts will be local feeds of Shock road games in Los Angeles (June 18, 10:30 p.m.), New York (August 12, 4 p.m.) and Indiana (August 19, 6 p.m.) consisting of the home team’s production and broadcast talent.

Detroit’s season-opening 75-68 win over the Sacramento Monarchs on ABC on May 19 was the first of five nationally televised games on the Shock schedule. Detroit’s August 11 tilt vs. Tamika Catchings and the Indiana Fever will also be shown on ABC while ESPN2 will televise the Shock’s July 24 road game at the Connecticut Sun at 8 p.m., as well as games against Chicago (July 10, 8 p.m.) and San Antonio (July 31, 8 p.m.).

Additional Shock games will be broadcast nationally via the league’s 24-hour television network, NBA TV.

Matt Shepard - the voice of the Shock on 1310 AM WDTW (which will simulcast this season on www.detroitshock.com) - will also return for the call on locally televised games this year.
