The 2008 Silver Stars Media Day is slated for Wednesday, May 14, immediately following practice at Antioch Sports Complex and Community Center, 314 Eross St. The practice, which runs from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., is open to all media.
On May 20, the Silver Stars will open their 2008 home slate against reigning WNBA Champion Phoenix in a Western Conference finals rematch. At the Wild, Wild West-themed game, Tommy Worrell, a cowboy stuntman, who has appeared in movies with such icons as John Wayne and Gene Hackman, will be in attendance to dazzle those in attendance with his six-shooter and his fellow trick ropers. Worrell also will interact with the crowd, teaching those who want to learn how to twirl a rope. George Chamber’s three-piece band also will be roaming the AT&T Center Plaza Level entertaining fans.
