Chicago Sky players will host twelve “Reading Time Outs” at various library branches, working to promote library exploration, while also reading stories to some of the 45,000 plus children involved. Several “Reading Time Outs” will be held in predominantly Hispanic neighborhoods, prompting sessions to be read in Spanish.
In addition, participants who reach certain reading goals will be recipients of a free Chicago Sky tee shirt. Each tee-shirt winner will be entered in a raffle at their respective branch, with each branch selecting 10 raffle winners. Raffle winners will be named to the Chicago Sky All-Star Reading Team, and they will receive various prizes. All-Star Readers will be given one complimentary ticket to see the Sky play the Connecticut Sun on August 11 at the UIC Pavilion. Other prizes include a group photo taken with a Sky player and a personalized Sky All-Star Reading team award certificate.
