Seattle Storm guard Tanisha Wright played multiple different roles during her career at Penn State. A starter for 126 of her 134 games, Wright won Big Ten Defensive Player of the Year three times. During her first three seasons, she served in a supporting role to Nittany Lions star Kelly Mazzante, now a WNBA veteran. As a senior, she became Penn State's go-to scorer, averaging a Big Ten-leading 19.3 points per game. She was named a First Team USBWA All-American for her efforts. As a rookie, Wright stepped up her game when promoted to the starting lineup after Betty Lennox was injured. Wright shot 58.8% from the field and averaged 7.8 points in August 2005, emerging as a key contributor. After spending two years playing primarily backup point guard, Wright has become the Storm's top reserve during the 2008 season.
