The Sun and the WNBA are focused on generating awareness and educating women about breast cancer.
As part of the Connecticut Sun’s Breast Health Awareness initiative, the team partnered with the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation – Connecticut Affiliate to generate awareness and educate women about breast cancer in addition to raising funds. Through this partnership the Sun and Susan G. Komen conducted three Breast Health Awareness nights with the culmination being “Pack the Place Pink Night” on Sunday, July 30th. For every ticket sold through the "Pack the Place Pink Night" promotion, a portion benefitted the Susan G Komen Breast Cancer Foundation.
With the support of Sun fans, the Connecticut Sun were able to make a donation of $13,026 to the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation – Connecticut Affiliate.
